The product is of good quality, there is only one minor defect.

Attached is a photo of a combiner / splitter 2x mini jack 3.5 in one. It will not be possible to connect BOYA BY-M1 + headphones through such a device without batteries. With batteries it works.

And the need to have batteries while recording a broadcast is a risk. They can be discharged. And this is a minus. For me, since it is the good clear sound that the BOYA BY-M1 gives that is needed for recordings, for conferences.

If you are not performing Online, but simply recording your voice, then you can use it without batteries.

There is also the option of using a microphone without batteries + built-in laptop speakers. This option works on Linux. And in Windows, if you connect a microphone as a headset, then the sound will be transmitted to it - the speakers will not be used.

I use with Linux, no batteries, getting sound through built-in speakers. If there is an online conference or a call, then while they tell me my microphone is turned off, and when I need to answer, I turn on the microphone, but turn off the sound. Whatever happens, so that a person hears his echo because of me.

Pros

An excellent replacement for the built-in microphone in a laptop. Great sound with no clicks. Quality made. The buttonhole is comfortable, holds the microphone firmly. Long wire. Low cost.

Cons

When used with headphones, batteries are required. The microphone can work with a battery. And without her. The microphone has a 4-pin mini jack 3.5 mm, like a headset. If you connect it to the same 4-pin input port that is suitable for connecting a headset, then the microphone can work without a battery. And when connecting to a laptop, you will need to select in Windows what the headset is connected to, and in Linux you can choose what the microphone is connected to. If the microphone is connected to the input hole for microphones, such are on desktop computers, on adapters / combiners (two mini jacks into one) - into a hole where there are only three contacts inside. The microphone needs to be powered by a battery. And when powered by a battery, you can connect a microphone like a microphone in both Windows and Linux. It turns out that if you have a laptop with only one universal mini jack 3.5 jack for a headset, and you want to use a microphone for a long conference at the same time as headphones, then you need to: 1) use microphone batteries 2) find an adapter / combiner (two mini jacks into one) or an external audio card mini jack-> USB or mini jack -> mini USB And then it will turn out to connect both a microphone and headphones. Otherwise, it will turn out to connect only one thing to the laptop. If you have a desktop computer and it does not have universal headset jacks, but only a separate headphone jack and a separate microphone jack, then you will also need batteries to power the microphone.
