It's okay. I think this is a sensible alternative to other forms of spare wheel mounting. I've looked at LOTS of them because I have a very specific place I want to put one (behind the trailer door). Simple design. The locking method is very intelligent and convenient. It's pretty easy to secure it and have a lock. The fact that the stud is a perfect rectangle means you can mount it in many places including drilling a hole in a trailer wall to mount it. Others that are similar don't have straight edges but are almost V-shaped so you can't install them that way (which means you can't drill two holes and just pop them in). I use it because I wanted something more reliable. Also, it didn't work with my hard drives. My spare tire has an aluminum rim, as do the tires on my trailer. The stud holes are deepened like a car rim. This tire holder design features two lugs that rotate around the bolts and hit the rim down. But my rim isn't flat at the top of the lugs so they're not a good buy. Also, it stops well outside the recess. Unfortunately, the diameter of the bolt does not correspond to that of a conventional tip. It is less. I thought of putting nuts on it to secure it and then using the tabs to block it. Then I have two nuts of different sizes. I'm lucky I don't have the right wrench when I get the apartment. If I used these tabs and just screwed them all the way in, it would scratch the aluminum rims trying to hold the uneven rim in place. I went with a completely different tire mounting system using standard size cleats and locknuts. It would be better for the main steel rim flat in the middle and you don't care too much about the color when you tighten it.
