It requires a little thought before putting it on

It needs a little thought before putting it on. This dielectric is not a conductor but an insulator. It's silicone, and silicone is an insulator that doesn't dry out but smudges easily, so you have to be careful when putting it down. It's designed to seal water around the rubber boot fittings in other places where water shouldn't get in. It is not designed for electrical contacts, sockets, etc. Google uses Diakectric to make sure you understand before using this product. There's a silver-based silicone product that's great for conducting electricity and helping with electrical connections if that's what you're really looking for. It's an insulator not a conductor so when used correctly it's a great product that does what it's supposed to do, insulate electric boots etc without letting water through. Suitable for use alongside rubber spark plug boots but not on tip or tip. Electricity flows Bottom line: deserves 5 stars! The use of this product is often misunderstood, so do a little research first.
