I have used this printer for many years although I know that each replacement toner cartridge is around $150 each (multiplied by 4 colors). Buying 4 cartridges usually exceeds the initial cost of the printer. However, I love HP products and love this printer. Well 2 years later my 3600n died and I had 4 brand new toner cartridges that I didn't want to waste (since toner is $600!) so I bought another machine. In the meantime, while waiting for my new printer to arrive, I upgraded my system to Windows 7. When I got my new HP printer. Guess what? It does not work anymore. Why? There are no printer drivers for this "old" Windows 7 compatible printer. I still regret upgrading my system from Windows Vista to Windows 7 because it was a waste of time and money (since it's not much different or better than Vista) and now I've lost the functionality of this printer. So, a word to the wise, if you have Windows 7, don't buy this printer or it won't work. If you have Windows Vista or XP this will work. If you are planning to upgrade your system from XP or Vista to 7, DO NOT TOUCH. Many programs don't work properly with Windows 7, which is worth it since Windows 7 is just a "boosted" version of the already useless Windows Vista.
