It works but the locking mechanism is faulty.
I changed this review after a few months. The locking mechanism keeps failing. At night they seem to be locked up, and in the morning the cats play in the yard. I do not recommend. At first I wanted to blame it on user error, but I finally gave in and bought a magnetic cesc cat door with a twist lock. It's MUCH easier to lock up and since I bought it cats are mad at me for being safely locked indoors all night.
