I went from 50w to 150w and the quality between the two in terms of thermal control is incredibly clear (50w was branded which obviously isn't the case). The device works great and keeps the snake tank at the right temperature, but for the first week I was bothered by the lingering smell and how hot the device was. Now I've adjusted some temps and the hood doesn't feel hot, but I'd be very careful with that! There is nothing flammable nearby!
