I have painted cabinets a few times over the years and the paint has peeled etc. I have been very hesitant to paint cabinets again, but my oak from the 1990's was in need of updating. So I figured that even if it didn't look good, it would look better than what I had! I have read many reviews with advice on using this product. I also bought a full size kit but needed a little more to complete my project. The color is nice and thick and easy to work with. I finished my vanity cabinets a few months ago and they hold up great and wipe down great when things like pasta sauce, chocolate syrup etc get on them (teens in the house). Judging by other reviews, I removed the doors. I tried sanding but my hand got tired so I just bought a shine remover from Home Depot (about $7) and used it to prep them. So far the paint is holding up great. Also, I considered painting the hardware, but decided to find hardware that would match my existing "holes" to make it easier. This part worked great too! I'm only half done but you can see the dramatic difference in updating my dated kitchen.
