I have this light on a separately ordered timer and it is set to a dimmer setting. I really love it! The aquarium looks amazing in the light and the best part is that I never have to clean the aquarium from algae! (I just keep it dark enough) Amazing light, especially for the price, highly recommend. The attached photo does not convey the real picture but this is how my aquarium looks crystal clear without having to clean the walls for more than 3 months. I have a 48" tank and a 28" lantern (bigger with legs outstretched), I like the shadow it casts but if you don't want that you can just turn up the brightness. All round great for the price, beautiful sleek design and fully customizable. The best light I've tried so far.
