I'm glad I have these but I don't think they're really needed. Aesthetics are more important than functionality. The design is very attractive and I use these bibs to put under my baby's head to catch the saliva and create a nice backdrop when I take a picture. The bib's contour is ideal for shoulder wear, so it holds up better than a towel. They are good quality but I doubt their absorbency. It takes some time for the liquid to be absorbed. The milk or saliva will puddle and stay on the fabric long enough to drip onto my baby's clothes. Because of this, they aren't the best way to wipe milk off my baby's face either.
