This light is good and easy to install if you have the c-clips in your old light. It has two V spring pieces that run between the C brackets. However, there were no C-clamps in my glass. I then bought regular springs and replaced the Y spring that came with the lamp with regular springs, but they didn't pull the light tight to the ceiling. Then, since my old jar was 6" in diameter and the bracket was 7", I drilled 3 small holes in the rim of the bracket and simply attached it to the ceiling. Since the LEDs have a long lifespan I don't have to remove them as quickly and they work great. I used stainless steel screws and for a nicer look you can paint the ends of the screws the same color as the lantern frame.
