I usually wear Merrell mids on weekend hikes but i wanted both a backup pair and a pair that seemed more likely to hold up. Enter Keen. the toe to heel fit well and during my 2 weeks of wearing to work, walking on flat surfaces, all good! the first time i wore them to walk up a hill, not so good. the ankle (collar?) really presses into my ankles until i'm ready to toss them over a cliff and just walk home barefoot.I am determined tho, wearing again today with thicker socks. Hoping i can break them before they break me :)
