Love My Keens! - my new review

I am new to hiking but upon reading reviews and suggestions on a Michigan fb hiking page, as well as on Best Buy, I decided I would try them. All of the reviews that I read on both pages were spot on. I also like that it protects the ankle from rolling. They truly are comfortable right out of the box. I've worn thicker socks for cold weather hiking and my feet didnt feel cramped at all. The larger toe box is also a big plus. I also like that these boots have adequate tread so as to…

Pros
  • There everything and more awesome Boots
Cons
  • Limited sizing options

Excellent equestrian and hiking boot

I had to replace my 5 y/o worn out Keen's and was nervous about this "updated" design. The footbed and toe box of my old pair were perfect for my wide, high arched feet. The profile of the new design is more slender and fashionable than my retired bulbous toe boot. In the new boot the footbed is the same; I love the sleeker look; the round shoe laces stay tied better than before; the waterproofing is perfect for walking dewy horse pastures; and they hike and grip beautifully. I didn't think…

Pros
  • KEEN
Cons
  • Not suitable for all weather conditions

great fit & support

Great price from Best Buy warehouse. KEEN Women's Targhee 3 MID fit as expected and insoles provide good support. These are all leather with only the tongue a mesh. Stiff when new, especially around but will break in nicely.

Pros
  • I find these hiking boot fit my feet well!
Cons
  • These boots were Very stiff, no give at all. Not comfortable

Boot inner seam rubs across ankle

I have worn the Targhee II for years and love everything about them except that the side tread tends to pull away after time. I decided to try the Targhee III as it has a different tread on bottom and sides and was hopeful that it would perform better. I just returned from a week of hiking in Glacier NP and was in pain the entire time on my right ankle. When I compared the boots today I found that the inner seam on the Targhee III is higher and hits me right across the ankle. I liked the fit…

Pros
  • The boots have a stylish and modern design that looks great on the trail
Cons
  • Too expensive for its quality

Light Weight and Comfy

Light weight and a lot grip. Not as much support for the arch as I like for my flat feet, but overall nice comfortable boot!

Pros
  • KEEN is a trusted brand in outdoor gear, so you can trust the quality of these boots
Cons
  • Can cause blisters

Hard on Ankles: my feedback

Love love everything about this shoe, except for the ankle area! I guess I have to break them in and wear them around, but so far I have hiked around in them 20+ miles and my angles still hurt :(, so I am trying different socks to pad my ankles and not get bruised by these shoes. Overall, I still love the shoe because I wanted to get a hiking shoe for my toes and feet and these protect those really well! My toes no longer hurt, nor do my feet slide forward coming down hill. So I am grateful for

Pros
  • The footbed is removable and can be replaced with custom orthotics if needed
Cons
  • Poor ankle padding

Holy mother of hiking boots! These are great!

Seriously the BEST hiking boots I've EVER had.I wanted to wait to write this review until after I've worn these for awhile and really put them to the test and today was that day.Went hiking the day after a huge rain storm and I kid you not I was walking through inches of mud and water for hours and my feet stayed warm, dry and supported. No slipping, water seeping, or ankles twisting.

Pros
  • They're made with environmentally friendly materials
Cons
  • Unattractive design

Excellent Customer Service

I liked the boots overall but the boot pressed on the bone on my right foot a little too hard. It was already passed the return window when I decided to make a return. But the seller gave me a full refund because I've only walked for less than 10 miles in those boots. That's excellent customer service!

Pros
  • The boots are versatile enough to be worn for non-hiking activities as well
Cons
  • Takes time to lace up

Waterproof & Durable

These boots are waterproof and very durable. I’ve had them slightly over two years now & still love them. My only complaint is that I wish they had more cushion in the midsole, because if I walk too quickly in them I have a tendency to develop slight shin splints. Outside of that they’ve been great for Michigan winter weather & walking my dogs in any & all conditions. This is a great choice for getting a high quality product without spending over $200. Also love the leather & colors available.

Pros
  • They're well-suited for women who have flat feet or low arches
Cons
  • Lacks grip for wet surfaces

True to size: my feedback

I'm normally an 8.5 in other shoes and an 8.5 fit perfectly in these. They're stiff to break in but once you do they're pretty comfortable. Tall socks recommend so the tops don't rub on your ankle. Otherwise they seem to be a pretty durable boots.

Pros
  • Muy buenos
Cons
  • Uncomfortable fit

Feet felt great after miles of hiking

I struggle daily with plantar fasciitis. My husband and I were going to the Smoky Mountains for a hiking trip and I was really nervous about how my feet were going to hold up. I did some research, found that these were rated as the #1 hiking boot for plantar fasciitis, and decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! We walked 15 miles in 2 days and my feet felt GREAT. No pain! I couldn't believe it. I said multiple times throughout the hikes that these boots were the real MVP. If you…

Pros
  • The boots are relatively affordable compared to other hiking boots on the market
Cons
  • Can cause knee pain

Perfect Wet Weather Shoes

These shoes kept my feet dry no matter where I was walking. I live in the Midwest and we got quite a bit of snow this winter. Whether I was clearing off my driveway or walking across the parking lot at work, my feet and calves did not get wet once!

Pros
  • Shoes
Cons
  • Limited shock absorption

Wore Out of The Box!

It was either these or orthopedic shoes with the velcro straps! My feet are protected and padded so well. Plus, the edgy fashion look suits my style much better. The ankle support was a bonus. I recommend these to anyone suffering from compromised ankle function, wholeheartedly.

Pros
  • They're perfect for year-round use, as they can handle both hot and cold weather
Cons
  • Takes time to break in for comfortable use

Nice comfortable hikers

I bought these for a trip and ended up not having to use them- but have used them to hike here in the woods. I really like them, they are a good size and they fit my somewhat wide foot. The shoestrings do a good job of staying tied- and yes I totally judge the shoes partially by the shoe strings. They are not very heavy, have good traction, and since they are waterproof, I will use them for snow shoeing soon. Good deal! And they are pretty cool looking.

Pros
  • They're great for backpacking trips as they can handle heavy loads
Cons
  • Can be hard to clean

Great boot, close fit.

I typically wear a double sock in my hiking boots (a padded wool hiking, and a light cotton to wick moisture). These boots out of the box were too snug overall to accommodate my double sock. A single thick hiking sock was adequate for a 2 mile break-in hike. The boots performed well, I didn't have any trouble with rubbing. If you are a true size 10 I would order up. I am a 9.5 or 10 depending on the shoe and these are JUST long enough. Again, enough room for good socks and not touching but I've

Pros
  • They're versatile enough to wear on a variety of hiking trails
Cons
  • Not suitable for summertime use

Great Hiking Boots - my new review

Love these boots! I’ve used them on every trip and every hike I’ve gone on since I’ve bought them. Truly waterproof. Great tread. Only issue I have is tightness at the top above the ankle. My laces might be too tight but everything else fits perfectly. Definitely be mindful of the trope of socks you wear so your foot doesn’t move around while hiking. Otherwise downhill treks can be not so fun.

Pros
  • My 3rd pair.
Cons
  • Doesn't provide enough ankle support

Saved my life! on my review.

So this is the first time I purchased a pair of hiking boots. Did lots of research, used Best Buy’s amazing "try before you buy” service and ordered 3 other brands, and all in 2 sizes each. Merrel Moab was it’s biggest competition in my eye, but this one won the battle, I’ll tell you why:I felt like these had more toe room. Merrel definitely felt like a sneaker though. Suuuuper comfy right away. But these, to me, gave my foot more structure, wiggle room for my toes, and the biggest thing: they…

Pros
  • The boots have a comfortable heel design for reducing pressure points
Cons
  • Not suitable for those with high arches

Light boots for my opinion

Bought boots for a hiking trip. Would advise to wear them a few days before to break them in. Not a big deal if not. Boots are waterproof, light and comfortable. I did get blisters on both heels but i think it may have been due to me tieying them tighter.

Pros
  • Hiking
Cons
  • Lacks breathability

Best hiking boot for a wide foot

Needed a good warm hiking boot to walk in during the winter. Through ice, snow and cold weather. These are light weight warm and fit my wide foot perfectly! Love them!

Pros
  • They're waterproof, so your feet will stay dry and comfortable even on the wettest hikes
Cons
  • Not versatile enough

Toes great ankles painful

I have wore keens for years. Sadly the targhee 111 hurt my ankles and the pleather on the ankle area was not soft or pliable so I returned these boots.

Pros
  • The boots have a roomy fit, which allows for thicker socks in colder weather
Cons
  • Can cause foot pain after extended use
