Review on Noctua NF-A14 FLX, High-Quality Silent Fan, 3-Pin (140mm, Brown) by Zack Frazier

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expensive but worth it.

Bought for the NZXT Source 210 case. I use it in one of the top fan mounts. I bought this fan primarily because the advanced bearing makes it easy to install in any position. I was also interested in quiet operation and longevity. You can buy quiet liquid bearing fans for less or about the same price, but honestly, great cooling with good design and reliability is worth it to me. I keep my computers until they wear out (usually), so I don't think expensive fans are a waste of money. I like cable options. I don't really like PWM fans and other fan speed control methods. PWM doesn't always work properly and it can be difficult to get exactly the speed you want. With this Noctua Low Noise Adapter it was perfect. I can't hear this fan because of the other five fans in my case, and it lowered all temperature readings by a few degrees. Anyway, I hooked it up to the Molex using a low-noise adapter from my PSU. Good thing this adapter was included as I don't have an open fan connector on my motherboard anyway. In any case, I would have to buy a splitter. In summary, like the reputation of the Noctua product, everything about this fan speaks for quality. It feels like it's built to last. Surprisingly heavy for a fan. The cable jacket is of good quality. I know I don't have to worry about this thing breaking anytime soon.
