Bright and cheerful but not too busy. We bought this for my 4 1/2 month old granddaughter because she wanted to stand up, holds her head well, has good neck control and has such strong little legs. We thought this would empower her even more and make her interested in doing fun things. Even on the highest settings she still has a bit of trouble reaching the platform with her feet so we included a foam pad to make up the difference and she works great and is comfortable on her little feet. She doesn't jump as much as she likes to stand, but I think she'll learn with time. She seems to hold her attention for about 15 minutes before about to leave. The cloth seat can be easily removed for a quick wash. Costs a little more than I'm willing to spend but overall not bad considering it converts into a small play table as baby grows into toddlers which extends the enjoyment time a bit.
