This lens is excellent in a number of ways: 1. It has a fairly wide focal length range: 18-105mm, which is equivalent to 27-158mm full frame. This is unusual for standard zoom lenses. Many zoom lenses have focal lengths around 18-70mm for APS-C or 28-70mm/28-105mm for full-frame.2. Constant f/4 aperture. At 105mm, f/4 is pretty impressive considering its size and weight.3. power zoom. Great for video recording. The zoom speed is variable. Why not 5 stars? Here's why: 1. The lens is noticeably heavy and large, especially when compared to the Sony SEL1670Z Vario-Tessar TE 16-70mm F4 ZA OSS .2. PowerZoom is not as responsive as physical controls. There is a noticeable delay.3. The picture quality is good, but not outstanding. The distortion can be significant by far. In my opinion, the IQ is not at the level of a G lens.
