I chose this primarily to start my air pump when filling water toys at the lake. There are no problems at all - works as expected. We've also used it to charge laptops on the go. I'm partially deaf and can hear it, but I don't find it uncomfortable or anything. I know another reviewer said they crashed after four hours of use. Ours only runs for about an hour so I can't comment on that aspect but it's perfect for our needs. We've used it probably a dozen times and it's been good. I might save a second one for the back of the car as that's where we also have a second cigarette lighter style port.
