My first impression of them is that they are amazing. Both the lid and the container are thick and durable. The container itself is small enough to fit in a child's lunch, but more than enough for a dieting adult to control portion sizes. As others have pointed out, they're perfect for homemade dinners. You can use healthier ingredients and still not be completely ripped off. Yes! Note: I almost didn't buy these based on the reviews that the tongue would break. That's the problem. You must be careful with any type of food containers as they are not made of steel. It's plastic. I'm going to use the tried and true method of grabbing both the pull tab and the real lid to remove it. Whether you can trust your child to follow the same principle. Much luck. I use them for myself, so if the tongue does indeed break even after applying a little force, I'll come back and let you know it's really rubbish. Also keep in mind that washing dishes in the dishwasher is likely to reduce their shelf life. The plastic containers in the dishwasher have to withstand a lot of heat, and even when placed on the top shelf, some just can't handle it. Be realistic in your expectations. Right now I feel like I'd be willing to buy a couple of these for the price. $12.99 is a bit much but you have to pay for the quality. If they really hold up I will definitely buy more. Change: 01/23/2019. I've been using them for a little over a week and I love them! I use them every day for lunch at work and they just make sense. I can pack pretty much anything I need for lunch and make sure everything is nice and separate. You don't have to worry about a bunch of different totes and zippered pockets. I didn't try my luck with anything liquid because I didn't need to. If I need to pack sauce, I just use a sauce container. As for everyone who says they break easily, buy them and judge for yourself. All I can say is they are VERY thick to me and not likely to break. I even gave the tab and lid a rough tug to try it out. No break. I have no idea what kind of Hee-Men, She-Women, Hulk powers some of these people and their kids are using, though. From what I've seen so far, they're worth the price. Again, I always wash by hand because the dishwasher shortens the life of the plastic container! If you must put them in the dishwasher, only use the top rack!
