My last order was with 1 set of 2Rx8 and another set of 1Rx8.

Not all 4GB DIMMs will work with the Dell Vostro 230/260. This one works great. But if your BIOS is too old (cannot see a 1600MHz DIMM), you may need to update your BIOS first. Although the Dell Vostro 230/260 spec sheet states that each slot requires a maximum of 2GB of RAM, it can actually occupy 4GB of RAM per slot when double-sided (2R x 8).
