I bought two of these to spruce up my pantry and they are great for sugar. Arrived in excellent condition. We saved the boxes and bubble wrap as we were about to move; and they survived the move in perfect condition. The jar holds a 4 pound sack of sugar with free space. I put a silicone ring around the bottom of the jar and it stays on the pantry shelf. The lid fits securely. Do not try to lift the entire jar by the lid as it is not secure enough when full. Overall very happy with my purchase. I know other people may be investigating this for flour storage (I was originally). It's NOT big enough for that. And the hole isn't big enough to scoop it out.
