I have purchased five different Revain humidifiers. With that, I ventured to be more curious. It seems like they were sold out every time I started ordering. Eventually I found them in stock and ordered one. Our house is a little hard to explain, but we need some humidifiers. When I built the house I tried to give my wife and I personal space, my elderly mother her own personal space (similar to a small apartment), and our children had rooms off the corridors leading to my mother's room and ours led room. Thus, a humidifier in a room only reaches one room. My interest in this humidifier is simply based on its ease of use (filling/cleaning) and its effectiveness. In the end I found out that this is a really good moisturizer. There are no special options or anything you need to learn before using. You fill it, plug it in, and turn the knob until you get the amount of mist you want. It's that easy to use. Here's the next piece of good news. It's just as easy to clean. Now for the bad news: it's not that easy to clean anymore. Kaz tried something different with this moisturizer than anything I've used before. The plunger (which releases water from the tank) is attached to the tank, not the base. At first I thought it was perfect. Cleaning the pistons at the base of the humidifier is one of the most troublesome parts. After a few nights, the flask, partially enclosed in a plastic case connected to the reservoir, began to develop pink mold. Mold isn't surprising, all my humidifiers do, but cleaning the inside of this case was a little more frustrating than I expected. I wouldn't say that this area is harder to clean than where the plunger is at the base, so it just balances the pros and cons. The performance of this humidifier is very good. I ran it on medium settings for 5 days/nights in a row and needed topping up every 18 hours. That's not bad, and the smaller size of this humidifier makes 18 hours of use without a refill even more impressive. A slight hum can be heard when working on Medium. If you turn it all the way on you'll still have a slight hum, but you'll also hear water dripping/gurgling almost constantly. Neither one nor the other will be an obstacle for me, since I like light sounds. I will say my wife was bothered by the noise at altitude but not so much because it was loud as she thought something was leaking in our house. cleaned with a humidifier. There is one more part to keep an eye on. You can see this in the product image in the middle of the tank. This is a tube that spreads cool mist. It can get a bit messy, but it's relatively easy to clean with a small brush. The top part where the steam exits can be removed for direct access to the cleaning tube. I am only deducting one star to make up for the cons. My wife is bothered by the difficult-to-clean sound/piston and there is another plus/minus. The valve you use to fill the water tank is one of the best I've seen. It only takes one turn to remove/open, one turn to close/lock. The problem with many humidifiers is that the valve has to be constantly turned/unscrewed, which is bad enough because the threads are loosening, but worse because it's wet. Then there is cheating on the valve. It has a low quality rubber washer, about 1/8 inch, that moves up and down freely between the valve and the tank. In my experience, those rubber washers that move and get thin will wear out over time and no longer hold the seal between the valve and the tank. valve and tank. Overall a good buy for the price and considering the good features. Also, I forgot to mention that there is a handle on the top of the tank at the back, which you can't see in the product image, which makes the refilling process even easier. I leave it and put it in one of the children's rooms. I keep forgetting things. The mist adjustment knob has a very subtle green light during operation. The best I can say is that there's no way to turn it off, but it's barely noticeable and easily hidden.
