doorbell works great! Very easy to install next to my front door. There are MANY tunes to choose from, so if you have even the slightest OCD, brace yourself for a tough choice. There are also different volume levels to choose from. One downside is that if you have to turn off the receiver, it forgets which beep you selected first, which doesn't really matter, just a little annoying. Another minor downside is that the receiver isn't small and will cover the outlet below or above the outlet you plug it into. My house was built in 1940, so I don't have many outlets. I got around this by using a six outlet power supply and simply placing this receiver in the extreme top right corner of the adapter, leaving at least four for other uses. Overall, I like the product and I'm glad I bought it at an affordable price. not better. I still get a little nervous when someone calls (I'm sure the excitement goes away when I get tired of the visitors).
