My Hemi sounds like a beast

I just bought a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 engine. I loved the performance but was disappointed that Jeep decided to add a huge intake baffle and filter system that killed the sound. I've used K&N FIPK intakes on other cars before for performance reasons, but in this case I just wanted to open up that harsh, animal sound of a big V8. This inlet took about an hour to install, mainly because the mounting points on the heat shield were difficult to access. Otherwise it was a breeze. When I first started the engine and gave it a little gas, I grinned like a 17-year-old with his first NOS system. The sound was incredible, and while I can't be objective about the power increase, I will say that the throttle is noticeably more responsive. For the price I would go for the polymer version of this kit over the stainless steel version any day. The stainless steel version might look better at first glance, but unless you're the type to regularly clean your engine bay it only gets dirty, so why not go for the plastic version. I like that the black plastic blends in better with the rest of the engine. There is no other stainless steel under the hood.
