I don't usually cook roast chicken for dinner because it always tastes weird or just plain disappointing. Not with that anymore. Doesn't matter! Just spritz on cooking spray and place your washed and seasoned bird on top. Place in a saucepan with a little water on the bottom and bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 F and sautรฉ 20 minutes per pound. I have a high powered oven so it took about an hour and 45 minutes to cook a 7 pound chicken. The chicken immediately slid off with no problem. The flavor was great and I was able to access the back meat without sticking to the grate or otherwise spoiling it. I am very happy with this shelf and will benefit a lot from it. The only downside to this is that you can't fill a chicken cave with onions, lemons, etc. or make a grossly overpriced beer can of chicken out of it.
