Review on πŸŽ€ Cute Bowden Filament Printer: Perfect for Picking Precise and Adorable Prints by Tyler Kota

Cheap and functional

I use Capricorn PTFE tubing on a traditional Bowden machine to make most of my prints on my Ender 3 Pro. When I need to print with specialty filaments like carbon fiber that require a higher nozzle temperature, I switch to an inexpensive, nameless, all-metal hot end. This cheap hotend works well enough apart from the poor quality bowden collection. Every time I remove the Capricorn from that hot end to go back to a traditional Bowden setup, the Bowden assembly distorts the end of the Capricorn. I always have to cut off a small piece of tubing when I change. My intention with this PTFE hose is to permanently install it on my all-metal hot end, which will prevent my Capricorn hose from ever becoming too short to use. The thread does not seem to slide as smoothly in this tube as in Capricorn. , but this is quite enough not to cause traffic jams. With a retail price of less than $5, I doubt this tube is as heat resistant as the Capricorn. But for use in an all metal hotend I don't really need a heat resistant one. There's nothing fancy about this tube, but it's cheap and does what I need it to do.

Pros
  • Heat resistant
Cons
  • I'm writing back
