I don't write many reviews but I want to thank the designer and manufacturer of this duvet. I raise sheep for wool and sell raw wool to spinners so I can judge the quality. However, I don't have the skills to make my own blanket and I've wanted one for a long time. I've searched and searched and just came across this on Revain. In today's world of factory products, it's a real treat to find something this well made at a reasonable price. It's not as soft as synthetic fibers but real wool that has been carefully processed and finished to create a product that will last for several lifetimes and do its job well. Yes, it smells like lanolin, it's natural! It protects the wool of a sheep or a person. Remember the old fisherman sweaters, they still had a lot of Shetland sheep lanolin and they were waterproof. These rugs don't have much, I guess the alpaca doesn't have much, and the merino sheep doesn't have much for a breed of sheep. In addition, it was naturally washed, but with a product in which part of the lanolin remains. This is good for the longevity of the product. The smell of sheep is faint, but it comes from real animals, not petroleum products. It will dissipate within a few days after being removed from the packaging. There was even some (very little) of what we call plant matter, which means just tiny bits of hay or other plant matter. It's easy to choose, just do it carefully or don't. This is another indication of a genuine natural product with many natural benefits. If you want this for camping, this can literally be a life saver. It will insulate when it gets wet. For the house is very good. The binding is soft and has a nice finishing touch. Natural colors are beautiful, the thickness is perfect. I slept as comfortably as I had it all week. Not too warm for a heated house, just right. I'm getting old and cold, but I've never had to use a heating pad. This would make a great gift for anyone or just a gift for yourself.
