It took me a while to buy it as it is expensive. However, it was worth it. No cell phone signal is required. For me this was the most important as the places I hike do NOT have cell service. I wanted to take my dog out to groom but was very nervous about what he was going to do (Parson Russell Terrier, 10 months old). When I first used it, I went to a place where there were no living beings to try it. It worked as advertised except for the plug that came with it. I couldn't connect it. I have purchased a number of PetFon cases and am very glad I did! I gave 4 stars as I think two alternate connectors should be included. In addition, PetFon is set to trigger an alarm when a pet is within 300 meters. I think you should be able to change this to the landlord value. I don't care about the capacity of the fence part since I have a fenced yard. I only use PetFon when I travel. I never managed to find my dog as he never went very far. The power of the radar would probably save the day as she hunted the beast in the woods.
