No cons. I bought it thinking it would be nice to have an AC port for long trips when I or my passengers need to charge a laptop or similar. This thing is so powerful I was able to get a small microwave to work with it (find out your wattage beforehand). The additional USB ports are also nice. Even with a bunch of stuff plugged into it, I've never encountered situations where the converter overheats. Even when things get hot, there's a fan on the back to disperse excess heat. Whether you're a truck driver or just someone who wants a little extra convenience when the time comes, this adapter is a great purchase.
