I bought the Pyle DVR mainly because of the brand. Pyle Electronics has been around almost forever, while other DVRs I've found have brand names I've never seen before (and probably won't see in a year). Yes, they're all made in China, but it's a little more convenient to get something from an established company. This is a very compact, unobtrusive camera that mounts to the top of the windshield, rather than hanging like a sore thumb from a several-inch suction cup mount in the center of the field of view (fighting with GPS for space). and a radar detector). I only gave this 4 stars because I want a consistent mounting position where the wires don't hang from the accessory connector, and since it's not a 12V accessory, the installation requires some creative wiring (and hiding of components). Turn it down to the correct voltage instead of just touching the small electrical plate on the back of my rear view mirror. As soon as I see how many issues there are with the connection (I bought two, one for my wife's SUV and one for my pickup), I'll revise my review.
