Over the years I have had several WiFi cameras that I use to keep an eye on things/kids/pets around the house. So I can compare this camera to my other cameras. Overall I would say this camera is my favorite. Mainly because of the camera's cubic shape, small size and the fact that it has a built-in battery! This camera also has the best video quality. Although this camera comes with a mount, I haven't had to use it yet. Since it is a cube, it is very easy to just place it on a table, shelf, dresser, etc. The battery lasts about 5 hours. Of course, like other cameras, you can leave this camera connected to the network while it is in use. The battery comes in handy when I want to quickly install it somewhere temporarily, for example when I'm out for dinner and something in the house is bothering me. The phone app lets me check in via live video to see what's bothering me in the house. After charging the camera according to the instructions on the box, I followed the instructions that came with it to find/download the phone app. Setup took less than 5 minutes. I encountered a small problem while setting up, so I just backed up a screen or two, repeated the steps and after that I was able to complete the setup normally. Application. I also set a password for the camera. While I love this camera and would buy more without hesitation, there are a few things I found a little annoying. If you select night vision in the app, the "Turn on automatic night vision function" function will not work. So when I was viewing a room in the dark, I selected "Force night vision mode" or "Disable night vision" in daylight and both options worked fine. Even when my phone is in portrait orientation (the video screen is small), I can still use the standard pinch and zoom gesture to enlarge the video screen. However, when I switched to landscape mode for a larger video screen, I couldn't zoom in. I was able to get around this by taking a picture with the 'take picture' button, saving it to my camera roll and then of course being able to enlarge it like any other photo. The app also has a status bar at the top that shows things like signal strength and battery status. Unfortunately, when I changed the orientation of the phone to landscape and then back to portrait, the status bar was mostly hidden behind a blue border at the top of the screen. Finally, the price of this camera is much cheaper compared to what I paid for other cameras when I bought it.
