A fairly basic light source, but not for surface mounting. You will need to drill a 5/8 spaced hole for the wires (see other pics here). They draw 48mA at low brightness and 150mA at high brightness at 13 volts (average battery charge voltage, vehicle not running and higher charge voltage with vehicle running allowing for some wiring losses). This corresponds to 0.6 watts in the low range and 2 watts in the high range (rounded up). Each LED has a faceted reflector so they are quite bright. I use them to supplement the stock trailer lights. I didn't expect more than what I got for the price.
