Review on Lansky LS4 BRK Super C Clamp by Adam Rogers

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Shakes, rattles and rolls (not the best)

When I bought this C-clamp and stand for my Lansky stone-based knife sharpening system, I made the unfortunate and unreasonable assumption that this thing was actually on the rail for sharpening FITS . /knife clip. Boy was I wrong. The top round part of the stand that fits into the sharpening guide is too small. So when you have everything together you can just hit the sharpening guide and it will rotate around the stand. Once you actually attach the knife to the tool guide and start sharpening, the knife continually spins, bouncing, and tipping from side to side. Add to that the fact that a poorly designed sharpening jig allows the guide rail (attached to the stone) to rattle in oversized corner guide holes and you end up with something so unstable you can't cut anything decently. In the end I just glued the pin onto the sharpener and that made everything stable enough to sharpen knives. Even then, I still have to deal with the shortcomings of the sharpening unit itself, of which there are many.

  • Clamps
Cons
