Works great for me: C-Clamps

I've read some reviews about fitting the stand into the Lansky blade mount but mine works and fits perfectly. If there are complaints about the loosening of the pin, a drop of Loctite Blue on the pin thread prevents it from being unscrewed. It's actually pretty strong and I think you need to tighten the clamp with a tool for it to break. Hand tightening makes it strong enough. This makes sharpening a knife much easier with the system, and the fact that it mounts easily and securely on almost…

Pros
  • C-Clamp device helps blade sharpening
Cons
  • It's ok

I've had a Lansky sharpening set for about 20 years and have had trouble holding the blade clamp when sharpening knives. I don't know why it took me so long to make this purchase, but I'm glad I finally did! The clip is very strong and holds the blade clip very well. The screw on the base fits either side, allowing you to attach it in two different ways. It appears to be very well built and the blade clip fits snugly into the base. I can set it up on a kitchen counter or even just a portable…

Shakes, rattles and rolls (not the best)

When I bought this C-clamp and stand for my Lansky stone-based knife sharpening system, I made the unfortunate and unreasonable assumption that this thing was actually on the rail for sharpening FITS . /knife clip. Boy was I wrong. The top round part of the stand that fits into the sharpening guide is too small. So when you have everything together you can just hit the sharpening guide and it will rotate around the stand. Once you actually attach the knife to the tool guide and start…

Made the difference in the world.

About two years ago I put my Lansky system in a closet and haven't touched it since. I got tired of holding the knife and guide system in one hand and using the staff/stone in the other. I wasn't getting the results I wanted with my knives. I've spent some time learning how to sharpen a ceramic stone by eye and can say I can get a razor sharp edge without any guidance. It took time and a lot of practice to be able to hold the knife at the same angle in both directions. So I saw this clamping…

Works well but could be done better.

The Lansky sharpening system is one of the best and works really well. I have found my knife to perform better with this clip and with a high gloss finish on the edge. I've seen people complain that it doesn't fit snugly in the post that's provided on the C-clamp or table base (it can also be ordered, the base bolts solidly to the bench). It doesn't matter at all, as long as you use guide rods and fixed holes and are consistent you will be fine. Actually I don't want it to be tight because you…
