The Lansky sharpening system is one of the best and works really well. I have found my knife to perform better with this clip and with a high gloss finish on the edge. I've seen people complain that it doesn't fit snugly in the post that's provided on the C-clamp or table base (it can also be ordered, the base bolts solidly to the bench). It doesn't matter at all, as long as you use guide rods and fixed holes and are consistent you will be fine. Actually I don't want it to be tight because you have to switch the knife clip to the other side multiple times while sharpening a knife. I really don't understand why people complain about this? Why did I give it a three out of five? First, clamp C is not large enough for many workbenches. I cut out a small piece of wood to fit under my desk in my office (see picture above). The second reason is that the threaded portion of the C-Clamp that actually attaches to the underside of any table is absolutely destructive. I would not use this on any piece of furniture other than a desk. This problem could easily be solved by adding two pieces of rubber to the place where the C-clamp attaches to the table or desk. To sharpen a knife. I do like the C-Clip, however, simply because it's detachable. Identical to the Lansky knife clip (available as a kit). The whole system could have been a lot better with a few pieces of rubber. (Yes, I understand they sell the knife clip with rubber. I don't understand why it's not the original design?) Would I buy again, yes. Maybe better? Yes, if this review was helpful, please let me know by clicking the 'useful' button below the review.
