GM Map Light Button Fix

I have a 2001 GMC Sierra and my Driver Side Map Light Button no longer works. After removing the device, I noticed that the button stopped working due to a flawed GM design. The printing mechanism touches the housing cover. The lid snaps into place and over time the lid may open if the button is pushed sufficiently. I have restored all parts except for the spring. I originally bought these springs because someone else was repairing their own springs of this size. The correct size is 3mm x 10mm, but 2mm x 10mm will work because of the small tube in the center of the mechanism. After assembling the block, I welded the body. Gorilla glue or any other strong glue will do. The internal parts of the button mechanism are actually quite strong, I found it safe to permanently seal them.
