. It's been about a month and finally the weather was good enough to go through the cleaning process.

I bought this about a month ago and finally the weather was good enough to clean the gutters and put the railings on. I have previously purchased some plastic and mesh guards from HD which have served me well for almost 10 years but they started to fall apart and their original fitment was PIA. When I replaced the roof and gutters two years ago I knew I had to do something as I live in the woods and something had to be done if I wanted the gutters to work at all. be efficient and stop at them. Two years of inactivity filled the gutters with tree debris in what turned out to be the biggest part of the project. I ordered a box of self tapping screws as described and took a magnetized drill to hold the screws in place during installation (worth every penny). I determined that the box must have taken a hit somewhere along the line and used an electrician's pliers to trim the edges back into shape. What I didn't expect was that the end of each piece was cut off so you had an overlap with the next piece. It was great, but the setup worked best left to right so the end of the first part was held by the next. At the end of the gutter, the shields had to be cut to size. I could have used metal cutters but I chose to cut them with a radial saw which avoided warping the shape. The total installation time was about 6 hours with a run of about 160 feet and, as said, clearing the gutters. was the most time consuming and I am 70 years old and the back of the house has two floors. I have six more railings to add to the three sided conservatory but this only requires a step stool and there are some incorrect angles but I don't expect any major problems. I put more than two screws in each piece to make sure they don't move, averaging 4 per piece. Let's see how effective they are at falling. I suppose there might be junk that isn't cleaned up, but that should be a lot easier than cleaning out the gutters and I live in the woods.
