Instructions on the packaging are rather vague. But if you do it right, it can fix your stove. I rebuilt a Coleman 442 Duel-Fuel that I've had since about 1989. A few months ago I tried to pump but sometimes he wouldn't catch or build pressure. After I removed the pump, I believe the problem was that the black plastic "pump cup" developed a small crack near the center hole (after 30 years, to be honest). This supplier states that this part will not fit the 442, but if you just need a new pump cup you can replace it with this one. The metal bar is longer than necessary at 442, so it still dangles an inch or two. To replace the pump cup, you must first remove the installed pressure nut to prevent the cup from falling. This is NOT easy and if you are not careful you can damage the pump cup. A second compression nut is included if you destroy the first by removing it. But I recommend using needle nose pliers to remove it. And don't push the point of the needle into the hole to hide the point, instead, run the point of the needle along the edge of the hole. Look closely and you will see that 3 pieces of the union nut are stuck in a recess on the metal rod. You will need to twist each of these 3 compression nut pieces slightly up and out of the recess while attempting to lift the pliers to pull each compression nut piece towards the end of the shaft and out of the recess. Work slowly and this can be done without damaging the pump cup. You can do the same with your original. Then take the new white pump cup washer and black pump cup and place them on the original (shorter) stem (cup side out!). Then add a new union nut by hand until it snaps into place. The instruction then tells you to lubricate the pump cup with oil and insert it without turning it over. This is also very tricky, so do it slowly and carefully so that none of the cup's feathered edges turn over.
