Learning curve, but worth it

This tool takes a bit of practice and no, you can't turn anything into ribbons or spaghetti. It works best with firmer vegetables or fruits like sweet potatoes or fresh apples. How you squeeze and turn the handle also affects whether you get a nice clean cut or constantly breaking cutting tools and a stuck machine. Watch the video a few times before you start (the QR code for the video is printed on the cover of the manual). The important thing is to attach the base to the work surface with a large suction cup, use additional holders for softer vegetables such as courgettes, make regular movements and apply the right pressure. It's also important to keep the product on axis as much as possible and "sacrifice" any bumps - in other words, don't push the blade hard enough to follow bumps on the surface, let it shave off first , until you get a perfectly centered cylinder. THEN apply constant pressure. I have made amazing zucchini spirals as well as beautiful apple ribbons that can be creatively used in baking for delicious and original confections. My next attempt will be to make lasagna with sweet potato strips instead of pasta. One thing: quite a lot of "garbage" that cannot be spiralized. That doesn't mean you should throw it away! When I make apples, I just eat all the delicious chunks that are left on the core. With other vegetables, you can always cut the seeds and use them in salads. Don't waste it :-) Great tool, but you need practice and "feel" before you can get the same results as the demonstrator. You also need fresh and crunchy food. Your crumpled old apple or droopy turnip is just going to snap, so don't worry. Recommended (but have realistic expectations)
