This RAM brought my Dell D830 back to life. I was looking to upgrade from XP to 7 and realized I would have issues with RAM since I only had 2GB at the time. Dell says the D830 only supports 4GB, but I've found that the computer will accept and display 8GB if you update the BIOS to A17, which uses the full 8GB when installing a 64-bit OS. I can say the computer seems faster to me, but I also installed an SSD drive which was a huge improvement. I would recommend this to anyone who doesn't want to buy a new computer or speed up an existing computer, but I would only go for 8GB if you want to run a 64-bit operating system.
