I live in Alaska, it's so cold here. Bought for quad sledding in winter, played outside at the time, wind blew for 4 days and mum MUST have you play outside for 45 minutes and kid has asthma and needed something to warm his inhaled air in very cold weather. days. A 4 year old boy and he's good enough for the job, has a pull cord that doesn't look very heavy but who knows - and it will work just fine without tightening if it breaks. Thick enough that if I put an ATV hat on it I'd have to use one of mine, it won't fit, but it will suffice for everyday use. I've used a few others (along with his hat, sister's hat over it, mum's scarf which has been wrapped around 14 times until all I see are little bulging eyes sticking out) and this one fits better and is much warmer than the ones I have. I am happy with my purchase, especially at a great price. I ordered blue but they sent red but the function will be the same you shouldn't send it back. I will order more for my daughter (she is almost 7 and it fits her too).
