This light is amazing. I was battling an algae problem with my water and tried all the tricks with water changes and covers to turn off the lights. Received this thing and got great water in 2.5 days. My settings and conclusions: - 5 gallon aquarium. Since the light was too much for my aquarium filter and draining seemed too difficult, I just took my fish out and put them in a standard tank for a few days. I turned on the light intermittently as they said. However, I ran it closer to 6 hours per session. So in the end I got clean water, I did 2-6 hour sessions and one 1-3 hour session! warning ! And it was my fault not the product but I left a small sucker fish in the tank - honestly the fish never came out of the cave supplies we had so I assumed it would be protected from the light. Wrong - he didn't, so be warned it will kill your fish if not separated. This is clearly stated in the product documentation. I dared and now I know what the next time is. Overall, I like the product much better than the €50 version from the pet shop, for which you always have to buy new headlights. I highly recommend.
