Thanks to the lining, they fit very snugly around the foot until your foot is "at home" in the inner lining. This is not the reason for losing stars. The lining cannot be removed like the old style, which I don't like. At least it's sewn into the shoes. I'm also not sure if it's glued. I didn't bring a seam ripper to find out. I prefer and need crocs with removable liners because sometimes my dogs decide to tag my crocs when I've been out with other dogs and in that situation it's almost impossible to clean them properly. I didn't see that the liner was permanently installed when I ordered them. Unless you have dogs that can pee in your shoes, I think it's safe to up your rating by at least a star or two. The earbuds don't usually get too dirty with normal use, but since they're not removable I wouldn't personally recommend them. I will definitely not be buying this style again.
