Let's start with the positives of the loupe: -acceptable workmanship -good viewing window size -protective storage case - a nice addition Now to the cons: magnification is far from 30x removed. I looked for a high magnification loupe on Amazon and settled on this one because it also had a built in light and was affordable. However, when I received it I gave it a try and was pretty sure it wasn't magnified 30x, but hey I didn't get a chance to really "test" it, right. So I bought more loupes, 10x magnification and 17.5x magnification. In comparison, I would say that this "30x" loupe has a much lower magnification than the 17.5x loupe I bought and is very close to the 10x loupe I bought. I am very disappointed with the magnification, although the seller insists it is 30x and matches their testing. However, I will leave it because of the built-in light, which I think will be useful at times. Oh, and FYI if you look at some of the product photos it's clear the magnification isn't 30x. Before purchasing I thought these photos were just general product photos and not specific to this 30x loupe, but now I realize that they are probably actual photos of this loupe being used (i.e. there are photos that zoomed in Show text, and obviously the text in the viewport isn't 30 times the size of the original text).
