Bought for my daughter home. Her dog somehow bit through the outside of the copper pipe from the compressor and made a small hole. HVAC charged her nearly $1,000 for repairs. Since my daughter wouldn't let me wrap a carcass in a dog and to be honest that dog probably isn't rated for PSI from what I heard the thing squeak, we needed another solution. So I got this silicone band. We watched a few YouTube videos on how to properly wind the line. Five minutes later my daughter had AC again. Still holding up after a month. It's holding up one of the hottest summers we've had here in years, with temperatures topping 100 for several weeks. The band doesn't feel like it's cooked, dry, crunchy or anything like that. I am very happy.
