I think I could go one size up than recommended in the chart. I've only used them on wet, snowy dirt and gravel roads. They offer good grip and dig in. They're easy to put on and take off, but quicker to use the third or fourth time. Put them on before you need them, after playing around with the hoops a bit it's harder. When you remove them, move forward or backward to put the chain in the same position that you attached it. Then remove the links, lay the chain on the ground and you'll probably have to drive a bit to get the chain up. I have not ridden them on hard surfaces like concrete or tarmac except to install or remove them. I think I'll buy another set for my front tires. Even though my truck is 2WD, the front tracks help with braking and steering, which is essential when going downhill.
