I have macular degeneration and was having trouble reading the various menu screens on my insulin pump and smartphone. I had already upgraded my computer monitor to a very large 43" monitor (running Windows 10 in high contrast mode) and wanted the camera to put each device in front of it and magnify it on my 43" screen. I compared different document cameras available. and chose this model mainly because it had a standard HDMI HD video output that went straight to my monitor. It also has a USB output for use with a laptop. The first block arrived, but it didn't turn on. I sent it back and Revain promptly replaced it within two days. The second block worked fine and now I think my problem with the first block could be operator error. The buttons in the vertical column are very easy to use (auto focus, dark to light exposure, digital zoom, image effects (high contrast video in various text and background color combinations; I don't use this) and a small LED next to it on the camera head, which throws more than enough light for printed materials to be viewed and read. The build quality is excellent. It is made of durable metal and the flexible camera holder design is convenient for placing larger items under the camera at the end. The base is very heavy and keeps the device from moving when you need it. I usually leave it on all day and turn my computer monitor on it when I need to see something. Foldable HD portable computer monitors that fold up. Even the box, the it was packed was high quality and can serve as a carrying bag when you take it everywhere wed want to take. All in all a very positive experience and one more thing for my trickset to ease my vision problems.
