I had to install an electrical box in the place where the light was previously installed, but the wiring was simply punched through a hole in the drywall. The design of this box is perfect for those cases where you don't have a pen to nail the 'new design' box to. I measured/cut a hole in the drywall to fit the box, knocked out one of the hole punches, threaded a wire through and then slipped the box into the hole. The wing nuts, which turn as you tighten the screws, do a great job of gripping the drywall and holding the box firmly in place. Conclusion: It does exactly what it was designed to do.
