Review on AEM Gun Metal Brute Force Intake System 21-8402DC: Unleash Maximum Performance by Tiger Carpani

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I want to give it 5 stars

I installed this air intake in 2009 on my 2003 Toyota Tacoma 3.4L V6. I bought it from another site. I recently had a case that prompted me to write a review. First of all, I really like this technique. It was very easy to install. Looks fantastic and sounds fantastic. I'm sure if I actually did some scientific measurements I would see a slight increase in performance and fuel economy. But I can't measure it. However, I had no reason to believe that this had a negative impact on performance or economy. Second, and more importantly, he kind of broke down. There is a bracket that comes out of the bottom of the tube. It is attached to the top of the wheel with a rubber mount. At some point in the recent past, that rubber support appears to have simply fallen off. Due to the fact that this attachment was missing, the pipe sagged a little and rested against the edge of the heat shield. Vibration and movement while riding caused the heat shield to wear down the hole in the tube. Noticing this I was able to wrap tape around the pipe to close the hole and hang the pipe to stop it working. Third and most importantly, I contacted AEM to inquire about the warranty and see if the issue was resolved. I emailed a girl named Jessica and she was very helpful in changing my handset. All she asked was to take a few photos of the situation and mail them to her along with a mailing address. A new tube and a few other spares arrived in the mail yesterday, about a week later. The new tube I received is chrome plated aluminum and I think it will look nice. So I think this is a great product, I had a bug and AEM was quick and helpful in fixing the issue.
