Expensive but necessary and it does the job.

TLDR: I think it's overpriced for what it is, but it works well and I needed it. I do HEMA and wanted something to protect my groin. There aren't many options, but that's exactly what I wanted. I wanted something to wear on the outside of my pants - I have foam shorts that I wear over my pants and I wanted it to be somewhere in between. It's uncomfortable to wear under pants, but it works pretty well between those two layers. Don't try to wear it like you see men in cups. If you want, it should be further forward so that only the narrow part really goes between your legs. I found the tugging on the small cord quite awkward and useless, finding it being pulled and tugged in all the wrong directions. I took it off and just used the tape. It's better for what I need, which is to put it on and wear it as soon as I get to my workout and then take it off again. I pull the band over my hips like a skirt and wear compression shorts over them. I adjust it to be comfortable enough and the compression shorts + wide strap are just enough to keep it in place during workouts. It's basically a piece of hard plastic with no gel or anything and a non-adjustable piece of plastic with a few bits of rubber. I think it's pretty overpriced for that. But I needed a mug, and pretty much every other women's mug I could find was either junk or designed to be worn under my pants and put on before I came to a workout with a bunch of guys. Thanks to this I can wear it over my clothes and easily protect myself.
