I bought this because the last soldering iron set I bought turned out to be junk. This one to do some small jobs just to do with the wiring did a great job. I only set the temp based on the wires used as higher temps tend to melt the insulation on different sized wires and this gave me higher temps when I needed them and lower temps when I needed them. I'm happy with what I got in this set, it was enough that I didn't need anything else to complete my work. You may need thinner tips if you want to work with very small components, but this is a great kit to get started and do some small soldering jobs around the house. I recommend this to anyone who needs to solder wires or components that don't match the dots very well.
