I have 05. I installed LEDs which was a worthy upgrade. However, I was fed up with the crappy radiation pattern, so I bought these projectors. My experience was a bit mixed but overall they were great. Let's start with the radiation pattern. Provided your bulbs are installed correctly (more on that in a moment), you'll get a great radiation pattern. They're much wider and throw a decent amount of light to the sides, and shine at least twice as far as a standard halogen in a reflector (maybe more). Compare it to standard halogen which has a very narrow beam. This is done to focus most of the light forward. Regardless, the projector far outperforms any standard setup as well as most OEM projectors. They also have a sharp cut with some color. It could have used more paint, but that's not a bad thing. The same goes for the cutoff; That's good, but there's room for improvement. What I don't like is the front lighting. I wish it was a lot smaller so I can decide whether or not I want to illuminate the foreground with my fog lights. Some people say that front lighting limits your ability to see far, and I partially agree. Still, I can see much farther with them despite having all the front lights + fog lights. Let's get to the big annoyance: lamp sockets. Projector. If it's tilted in any direction, even slightly, then the beam won't look right and probably won't glow right either. The access point I mentioned is very important. Without them, you will have trouble seeing anything more than 100 feet away. They can perform WORSE than standard halogen. Something you absolutely must do is lay out the lightbulbs. There's more info on forums and such, but basically you put little pieces of cardboard between the lamp base and the projector to align the lamp. In one of the pictures (the one where one of the bars is slightly higher than the other) you can see the difference between a correctly installed bulb and an incorrectly installed one. For the one on the left, I just plugged a lightbulb into the projector. For the right one, I spent about 15 minutes adjusting it. Please note that the left bulb has no hotspot. Also, the whole beam has these weird streaks, and the cutoff is all messed up. The beam on the right not only has the most important hotspot, but overall the beam is brighter, free of streaks and has a much nicer cutoff. The bulbs appear to be tilted slightly upwards, obscuring the hotspot above the cutoff boundary. I had to use 4 pieces of relatively thick cardboard for the bulbs to fit properly. I have to admit that the H1 mounting system isn't very good and I know that washers are often required even with much more expensive projectors. However, this is just bad design as lightbulbs shouldn't be misaligned like that. I don't want to discourage you; Shimming isn't overly complex, and just because these projectors have to do it on a much larger scale doesn't mean they're terrible and you shouldn't buy them. If you buy them, you basically MUST do so. I think it's very likely someone will just buy them, never blink the bulbs and just drive almost blind without noticing as there is still a beam of light straight ahead and to the sides. What I also don't like is the aperture. They're a bit small and don't look good in my opinion, but they're not terrible. You can still replace them, so it doesn't matter. All in all, these projectors work great if you're willing to take the time to get the bulbs in place. I am very happy with them. I just wish they offered a smoother experience.
